The morning after pill for family planning

September 18, 2009 Leave a comment

The morning after pill is not usually recognised as a legitimate family planning mechanism. It is often considered the last resort for singles whose lack of forward thinking and sexual activity may have led to a chance of pregnancy.

Couples who are in a long term relationship are expected to be more considered in their approach to pregnancy.

However much the social consensus reflects the fact that methods of contraception other than the morning after pill should be used by families to prevent pregnancy, it should not be dismissed by couples.

Women in a relationship who – for whatever reason – find themselves at risk of unwanted pregnancy can turn to the morning after pill as an emergency form of birth control that can prevent pregnancy after sex.
